The City of Sunnyvale is seeking a Housing Programs Technician to join the Housing Division of the Community Development Department. Under direction of the Affordable Housing Manager, the Housing Programs Technician assists in the coordination and implementation of various Affordable Housing Programs as well as performs administrative duties for the Division. Duties may include conducting homeowner and rental program audits, reviewing affordable housing applications and preparing various regulatory documents. Additionally, the Housing Programs Technician will serve as the lead answer point for the division, including providing customer service via telephone, email, and face-to-face appointments (scheduled and unscheduled), while also providing general office support. The Housing Programs Technician may be required to participate in offsite meetings at housing developments and attend meetings with program applicants, property management staff, or real estate professionals. Additionally, the Housing Programs Technician will prepare housing-related outreach and education materials and conduct workshops to groups of 50 or more. Since the 1980's, the City has awarded more than $50 million in City housing funds towards developing or preserving affordable housing, and awards over $1 million in federal funds annually to our non-profit partners. The minimum qualifications for this position are graduation from high school or tested equivalent; AND Two years of increasingly responsible housing, property management, non-profit administration, mortgage banking, real estate or loan related administrative experience An Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university may be substituted for one year of experience.
