The Silicon Valley Leadership Group, founded in 1978 by David Packard of Hewlett-Packard, represents more than 370 of Silicon Valley’s most respected employers.  Leadership Group members collectively provide one of every four private sector jobs in Silicon Valley.  The Silicon Valley Leadership Group is a proactive member-driven organization engaged on issues impacting both the economic health and quality of life in the Silicon Valley region, including housing, transportation, the environment, energy, education, taxation, tech policy and economic vitality.

In addition, the SVLG's staff partners with public/elected officials and executives from our membership companies to effect policies and initiatives at the local, state and federal level.  SVLG and the SV Foundation manage, on behalf of and with the partnership of member companies,  a range of events here in Silicon Valley to raise funds for local education and health programs for kids and families.
