Manages day-to-day purchases of raw material stock for both facilities; checks stock inventory, and assures that all customer and company requirements are met. Coordinates the procurement and distribution of materials. Serves as a secondary estimator, supporting the primary estimator in creating all job estimates with respect to labor and material costs. Essential Functions: Purchasing Responsibilities: Meets weekly with Customer Service Supervisor in both plants to manage daily job requirements and order material accordingly. Communicates and assesses daily issues such as engineering changes, specification changes, deviations, etc., to ensure no shortages to production needs. Tracks status of purchase orders to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of stock and correct costs. Updates the Supply Chain ERP system with pricing, film structure and trial orders, and utilizes system capabilities for min/max and auto-generation of demand requirements. Maintains inventory reports with correct supplier information, film designation, delivery dates and pricing updates. Communicates the information to CSR’s and Plant Managers. Performs monthly physical stock inventory reconciliation between perpetual rolls and scanned rolls. Works closely with the Director of Supply Chain and sales team to develop a Supply Chain Trend Analysis and forecasting as required. Performs additional responsibilities as needed or assigned by Management. Estimating Responsibilities: Determines the most cost effective, competitive pricing by maximizing material and equipment utilization; calculating unit, production, time, labor and material costs for each phase of production based on specifications outlined on Request for Estimate and entering specifications and all collected costs into Radius estimating software. Analyzes specifications and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates for printed products or services. Computes cost factors and prepares estimates used for management purposes, such as planning, organizing, and scheduling work, selecting vendors or subcontractors, and determining cost effectiveness. Monitors and updates a centralized cost estimating database and a formal process to support cost estimating to ensure historical data is utilized. Confers with head of manufacturing, project managers, sales staff and engineering to determine optimum way to run job. Develops or confirms information regarding various cost elements. Consults with vendors or other individuals to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues. Reviews completed job cost reports for variances between estimated and actual costs for possible future revisions to estimate. Provides improvement recommendations to cost estimating procedures to reduce future discrepancies between estimated and actual costs.
