Job Description:  Horticulture Technician   Reports To:   Sr. Account Manager Summary:   The Horticultural Technician is responsible for the maintenance of sustainable landscape programs at high-touch client sites.  Duties will include routine and non-routine soil probing to analyze moisture levels, soil texture, and active root growth, record keeping supporting active new growth, and analyze pest populations, and diseases.  Occasional soil sampling to determine soil and plant health. Seasonal structural pruning, while being able to assist in tree fertilization and hydration. Working knowledge of pest and disease life cycles, pest/disease identification and determine preventative, proactive measures to encourage healthy and vigorous growth; while suppressing pests and diseases. Responsibilities: Analyze plant health Diagnose pests and disease, recommend treatment options Document analysis, diagnosis and treatment Qualifications & Experience  Required: BS Degree (or equivalent) in Plant Science, Plant Health or Environmental Landscape; or 4 years’ experience in landscape maintenance and plant health care Certifications – QAL, Bay Friendly Computer skills – Google Docs and MS Office; Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook Strong communication skills – English verbal, written and reading comprehension Diagnostic skills and recommend treatment Strong analytical skills, ability to meet critical deadlines with accuracy and attention to detail Responsive to client’s needs and requests – build customer rapport  Preferred: Bi-lingual Spanish  Personal Development: Professional demeanor and appearance Responsive with positive attitude and initiative, team oriented , and strong role model Accomplished verbal and written communication skills When applying, please note that you saw the job posted on the NOVA Job Board.
