Job Description: As a Principal Product Engineer at MACOM Technology Solutions, you will be a key team member of the New Product Development Engineering team responsible for the release of a diverse portfolio of microwave semiconductor products from MHZ to 50GHz+, targeting Satcom, Communications, Test and Measurement, Aerospace and Defense, and general use applications into mass production.   The Principal Product Engineer’s role includes the development of production tests plans to verify product performance, the design and debug of RF test boards for automated test equipment and the statistical analysis of data using sound statistical methodology in order to set test limits and datasheet specifications.  To accomplish these tasks, the Product Engineer will interact closely with Design Engineering, Test Engineering, Applications, Marketing, and Reliability Engineering to analyze and resolve issues, as they relate to sample, pre-production and full production release of a product.  The function will work with internal and offshore test facilities to release products to production.  A strong semiconductor product characterization and test background and the ability to collaborate with multiple engineering disciplines at different geographical location worldwide are essential to the success of this position.   Responsibilities: Generate production tests plans to verify product performance Generate product datasheets Design/analyze RF & microwave test boards for automated test equipment Set up and perform lab RF measurements Conduct measurement systems analysis (gauge R&R) Analyze data using sound statistical methodology Perform yield analysis and hold meetings of the project team to review the findings Ensure all aspects of product manufacturing, including hardware, documentation, BOMs and costing are in place for the production release of a product Ensure new product introduction is successful and on schedule Job Qualifications: BS in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent – Masters degree is a plus More than 7 years of experience as a Product or Test Engineer in the semiconductor field Knowledge of a wide range of RF/microwave and optical semiconductor products including amplifiers, attenuators, and RF modules. Job Description   As a Principal Applications Engineer you will be a key team member responsible for the support of a diverse portfolio of optoelectronic semiconductor products targeting high speed optical applications (operating at 100Gbs and beyond).  The Principal Applications Engineer’s primary role is to engage with customers to help them understand how to incorporate cutting edge devices into their optical systems by understanding their applications and systems they are building.  Duties include analysis of system tradeoffs, testing devices in new applications, designing and building custom hardware, and other activities. To accomplish these tasks, the Principal Applications Engineer will interact closely with Design Engineering, Test Engineering, Applications (domestic and international), Marketing, and other departments to analyze and resolve issues, as they relate to sample, pre-production and full production applications support of a product.   This position works with local and offshore applications and sales teams with a strong focus on maximizing revenue.  A strong RF and Microwave test background and the ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with multiple engineering, marketing, and sales groups at different geographical locations worldwide are essential to the success of this position.   This individual should be a self-starter and be able to independently (or manage team resources) to solve customer’s technical problems.  Responsibilities Become an applications expert on latest cutting edge devices customers will use to build their 100Gbps-1Tbps systems.  You will be given a set of products to become an expert on and directly support in the market place.
