Job Description

Position Summary

The EKG Technician is responsible for the interpretation and reporting of EKG data received for patients wearing Company monitoring devices to assist physicians in diagnosing of the patient.

Position Responsibilities

  • Process, analyze, interpret and edit EKG data
  • Process trans-telephonic event and wireless recording data
  • Educate patients about service and monitor use
  • Evaluate ECG for notification criteria
  • To collect recordings and patient symptoms as needed
  • Facilitate activation of EMS, if indicated
  • Accurately document actions taken within patient records
  • Facilitate orders for monitors and supplies
  • Possess the flexibility to adapt in a constantly changing environment and evolving procedures
  • Obtain patient transmissions and related symptoms
  • Recognize abnormal cardiac rhythms/symptoms, and clearly communicate information to technicians
  • Aid patients and practices in troubleshooting devices
  • Ensure customer enrollment is entered correctly
  • Address questions and educate patients, practices, and sales staff
  • Fax serious and critical reports to practices and hospitals as requested
  • Possess the flexibility to adapt in a constantly changing environment and evolving procedures
  • Retain information that is job specific such as safety regulations and current policies and procedures
  • Must communicate in a professional, manner with good voice quality, dictation, and articulation
  • Other duties as assigned.

Position Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1-2 years previous Customer Service experience
  • Intermediate ECG Rhythm Analysis and Interpretation skill required
  • Previous experience with Cardiac Event Monitoring/Holter monitoring a plus
  • CCT or CRAT certification preferred
  • Understanding of basic cardiac anatomy
  • Basic skills in MS Office
