Overall Responsibilities: Clean work areas, machines, or equipment, to maintain a clean and safe job site. Review specifications in blueprints, sketches, or building plans to prepare project layout and determine dimensions and materials required. Measure and mark cutting lines on materials, using a ruler, pencil, chalk, and marking gauge. Shape or cut materials to specified measurements, using hand tools, machines, or power saws. Install structures or fixtures, such as windows, frames, floorings, trim, or hardware, using carpenters' hand or power tools. Maintain records, document actions, and present written progress reports. Assemble and fasten materials to make frameworks or props, using hand tools and wood screws, nails, dowel pins, or glue. Assist superintendent with minor supervision of trades. Provide supervision for small projects. Oversight of subcontractor coordination.
Required Skills and Competencies: High school diploma or equivalent Minimum 4 or more years of experience in all phase of commercial constriction Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong work ethic, positive attitude and excellent customer service skills. Strong Problem solver, detail oriented, but able to see the big picture. High initiative, can take direction and able to take constructive feedback.
