Job Description

From overseeing the development of job opportunities, to matching employers with day workers for job placements, and managing important data, the Jobs Coordinator has broad responsibilities. Primary responsibility is to help a diverse group of workers with job placements while assisting with job skill improvement opportunities as well. The Jobs Coordinator partners with local community organizations, local businesses, and residents to create short and long-term employment opportunities for the day workers. The Jobs Coordinator will work with both employers and day workers to facilitate an ideal work environment. As such, this person must possess exceptional interpersonal skills and maintain confidentiality of all privileged information.

Job Duties

  • Matching employers with workers
  • Follow-up with workers and employers after the job is done
  • Collaborating with the programs manager on worker job readiness activities:
    • Workshops, classes, and presentations
    • Safety training and job skill improvements
    • Resume writing and interviewing skills
    • Job seeking, completion of job applications, and job placement
  • Representing the Day Worker Center and its programs to external audiences
  • Other tasks, duties and responsibilities as assigned by the ED

Skills and Qualifications

  • Must be bilingual (English/Spanish)
  • Microsoft Office – Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Advanced Google Suite (Sheets, Docs, Slides)
  • Familiar with social media usage (Facebook, Instagram, Yelp)
  • Experience with Salesforce a plus
  • IT knowledge is required to assist staff and troubleshoot issues encountered
