The Organization

American Leadership Forum-Silicon Valley (ALF) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to building a better Silicon Valley community by joining and strengthening leaders to serve the common good. ALF was founded in 1988 to create a regional network of diverse senior-level leaders across private, public and nonprofit sectors. Graduates of the organization’s Fellows programs, called Senior Fellows, now numbering nearly 700, form a network that brings together a broad cross-section of leaders committed to building a stronger community, using network leadership skills to identify and deal with complex regional issues, and creating opportunities to work together in ways that make a significant difference to Silicon Valley.  ALF has five staff, a fourteen-member Board of Directors and ten-member Advisory Council.

The Position

Working in partnership with the Chief Executive and Impact Officers, the Network Weaver will play a large role in figuring out how to optimize network activities that drive alumni engagement and systemic change in the direction of the network’s long-term goal, deepen the capacity to work powerfully across difference and guide cross-network strategic alignment. They will be fluent in public, private and non-profit sectors, able to engage executives from diverse backgrounds.

The main responsibilities will be to align and weave the various parts of the network – routinely connecting parts and people across working groups, helping the ALF Network to strategically add value and collective impact using systems thinking and coordinating network-wide activities that promote both social and continued learning opportunities.

  • Manage backend engagement tracking tools in Salesforce, providing regular engagement reports.
  • Oversee and engage Class Champions, supporting and tracking their efforts.
  • Staff the Network Engagement Committee, managing the flow and execution of vibrant alumni engagement ideas that are implemented with the help of ALF Class Champions.
  • Continue seeking out cutting edge tools and methods that keep ALF Senior Fellows informed and connected to each other.

  • Proven work experience in network, alumni and or membership associations
