POSITION SUMMARY

Under limited supervision, this position assists in identifying hardware and software systems problems, databases, and system integration with host computers or servers. They will work closely with all users to promote and implement enterprise-wide systems applications that provide flexibility, better delivery and increased ability to provide technology services to staff and our members.

They will assist with the maintenance, daily administration, and documentation of the company's server, network, virtualization and storage infrastructure.

They are responsible for coordinating projects such as new hardware and software as well as 3rd party vendor implementations.  They will serve as a resource for the on-going maintenance of all Credit Union electronic data processing equipment and systems applications, with the purpose of improving Quality of Service (QoS), and member experience. They will be responsible for monitoring databases, and correcting deficiencies to increase productivity, reduce costs and increase data availability.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Administrate and assist with system backups, system restores, system updates, and the implementation and test of new systems.
  • Administrate users, security groups, service accounts and computers in Active Directory, Office 365, Exchange
  • Administrate anti-virus and anti-malware.
  • Audit daily backups for successful completions.
  • Troubleshoot systems issues as they arise.
  • Research and evaluate new technologies.
  • Assist the Senior Systems Administrator and the Desktop Staff with duties and projects, as assigned by IS Management. 
  • Arrange service calls for systems, as needed
  • Maintain complete System Operation documentation for all relevant systems.
  • Coordinate and supervise activities such as equipment scheduling, production control, data libraries, teleprocessing, and similar operations.
  • Recommend methods and practices for systems to minimize costs, optimize performance, and maintain quality.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable policies and regulations.
  • Assist in the planning, coordinating, controlling, and monitoring of the WAN and LAN systems.
  • Assist in the development of network requirements
  • Provide technical support to credit union staff.
  • Must comply with applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.

Qualifications

  •  An Associate’s degree in computer science, management information systems, or a related field.
  • One year of relevant experience with Microsoft Windows Server operating systems, Active Directory and Group Policies, anti-virus, anti-malware, and TCP/IP networking.
  • Experience in implementing and integrating high-availability Microsoft Windows Servers on a high-speed network.
  • Experience in writing Systems documentation, systems specifications/requirements, presentations, correspondence, studies, reports, and training materials.
  • Demonstrates the ability to properly develop and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Possesses the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with vendors and systems administration staff, and the ability to effectively explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical staff.
  • Computer Skills/Experience Required:
