Job Description

Leading Bay Area Company is seeking an experienced Human Resource Generalist with a minimum of 5 years’ experience.  Professional individual must communicate with management to appropriately fill positions within each department, while maintaining our employee handbook and company policies.  Candidates must have excellent computer skills, effective oral and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal and coaching skills, and the ability to work with various departments and foster teamwork.

Responsibilities

 

  1. Human Resources
  • Manage Human Resource policies, procedures and administration for over 50 employees
  • General knowledge of various employment practices and laws
  • Employee and Contractor recruitment
  • Employee Handbook maintenance
  • Manage on-boarding process and procedures, including drafting of new hire documentation, employment verification/background checks
  • Employee Disciplinary Action management and administration
  • Manage off-boarding process and procedures, drafting all necessary documentation
  • Create & maintain job descriptions
  • Compensation, wage, and salary administration
  • Employee performance appraisal maintenance
  • Employee incentive programs
  • Management reporting
  • Disability administration
  • Worker’s Compensation administration
  • Manage employee leaves, including;
  • FLSA (Fair Labor Standards Act)
  • FMLA (Family Medical Leave Act)
  • PDA
  • Personal
  • Worker’s Compensation
  • Maintain OSHA (Occupational Safety & Health Administration) Requirements
  • Maintain employee seminars/continuing education
  • Maintain employee posters
  • Maintain employee cell phones
  • Assist with performance audits and safety meetings
  • Maintain Driver’s Pull Program

 

  1. Payroll
  • Hourly & Semi-monthly employee maintenance/payroll
  • Time & Attendance (Timecard)
  • ACA requirements & Reporting
  • Benefit deductions
  • Garnishments
  • Holiday
  • PTO
  • Requests for time off

 

  1. Company Benefits
  • Benefits proposals, medical, dental, section 125, worker’s compensation
  • Coordinating/Facilitating open enrollments
  • Benefit maintenance; medical, dental, section 125, 401k, worker’s compensation, commuter benefits
  • Cobra administration
  • 401k enrollment and contribution maintenance
  • 401k year-end census (5500 Tax Form)
  • Worker’s Compensation Insurance, yearly renewal & implementation
  • Worker’s Compensation; Injury/Illness form, DWC-1, form 5020, MPN program, back to work program

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree in related field
  • Minimum 7 years of HR and payroll experience
  • General knowledge of various CA employment practices and laws
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience working with hourly & salary employees
  • Payroll; Hourly & Semi-monthly
  • Software experience; PrimePay and Sage 100
  • Proficient in MS excel, word, power point, outlook
