Job Description

SRI International is seeking a multi-faceted Learning and Development Specialist to support, enhance, develop and maintain areas of our learning programs and initiatives. As a member of the Learning and Organizational Development team, you will be responsible for key aspects of our internal processes including the management of LMS and learning tools, training planning and logistics, and day-to-day coordination of L&OD programs.

The Learning and Development Specialist will also provide blended learning solutions through course development and utilize SCORM authoring tools to convert and create trainings for the LMS. This role is critical for delivering a well-organized and effective learning experience that will boost SRI employees’ workplace performance and engagement. 


LMS Management

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the LMS including the publishing of all learning content, contributing to ongoing system improvements, coordinating resolution of system issues, generating reports, and assisting learners in troubleshooting
  • Develop, maintain, and provide accurate reporting for training and program metrics
  • Communicate with learners, managers, and content owners on program requirements, eligibility, enrollment, and status

Program Support

  • Manage eLearning user licenses, curate custom curriculum, and provide ongoing upkeep
  • Maintain participant, vendor, and program cost metrics and reports
  • Coordinate planning, scheduling, and communication of training events
  • Manage training logistics and resources including materials, technical equipment, refreshments, and facility support

Content Development

  • Consult with content owners to deliver high quality training programs and supplemental materials
  • Proactively identify potential questions/issues, prioritize and provide the best possible resolution with strategic or tactical objectives in mind
  • Translate complex concepts and processes into easy-to-understand training content
  • Research and recommend the most up-to-date learning methods and materials
  • Assist with the creation of instructional materials including visuals and diagrams that facilitate understanding through graphics
  • Participate in the design of learning curriculum and training programs

General Administration

  • Support L&OD Director with budget tracking and management
  • Partner with L&OD team on internal marketing and communication initiatives
  • Support L&OD team members with program management as needed (e.g., tuition assistance, orientation, employee engagement)


  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of coursework and experience in Human Resources related field
  • 3-5 years’ experience in a Learning and Development position with responsibility for administration and facilitation of training programs
  • Proficiency with SCORM compatible training content generation software (ex. Storyboard, Articulate)
  • Experience developing, implementing, and delivering training content training manuals, guides, and course materials
  • Knowledge of principles and methods for training design, instruction, and the measurement of training effectiveness
  • Demonstrated project management skills with the ability to plan, identify, coordinate, and track critical activities, milestones and deliverables
  • Proficiency in entering and reviewing data in LMS programs and using reporting tools
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey information effectively to a variety of audiences
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail while juggling multiple tasks
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 – Outlook, Word, Excel
  • Familiarity with Oracle systems preferred
