Job Description

We’re currently interviewing for an Accountant I to join our dynamic, fluid and fast-paced Accounting department. As an Accountant I, you will be under the general direction of our Accounting Manager and work with a professional and accomplished team of Senior and Accountant IIs. We believe in fostering growth and professional development. Upon hire, you will be given opportunities to cross train with team members in areas and functions of Accounting you may have not been exposed to as of yet. The ideal candidate is eager to show what they are able to accomplish when given the opportunity, able to focus on the fine-points and embraces daily challenges as opportunities for success. Responsibilities include:

  • Prepare daily cash reports and cash transfer request
  • Record all cash transactions to general ledger
  • Reconcile all cash account and resolve reconciling items on a monthly basis
  • Maintain and monitor bank fees
  • Record all new assets and maintain all existing assets
  • Reconcile fixed asset sub-ledger to general ledger
  • Prepare fixed asset analyses and estimates as needed
  • Test updates to fixed asset system
  • Prepare property tax filings
  • Prepare sales tax filings
  • Maintain sales tax records
  • Prepare journal entries
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts
  • Assist in year-end audit functions
  • Prepare audit schedules and provide supporting documentation
  • Document and maintain written desk level procedures
  • Promote cross-training
  • Other financial activities as deemed necessary

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Knowledge in GAAP accounting
  • One year minimum experience in accounting book close and financial analysis
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel required; intermediate to advanced level
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Innovative thinker and self-starter
  • Experience with PeopleSoft a plus
