AbilityPath is hiring a Preschool Teacher for our Inclusive Preschool in Mountain View!

The Preschool Teacher collaborates with the preschool team and families in educating children in an inclusive environment with an emphasis on cognition, behavior, social-emotional development, and kindergarten readiness.

 ABOUT THE ROLE:

  • Supervise day-to-day operations of preschool classroom and ensure overall health/safety of the program and adherence to licensing standards
  • Responsible for ongoing development, evaluation and oversight of the child-centered, play-based curriculum
  • Support staff in the supervision and guidance of children, ages 2 to 5 years old, including planning and implementation of classroom activities
  • Model exemplary behavior with children, families, and colleagues
  • Communicate with staff and families effectively
  • Conduct parent conferences, DRDP (Desired results  reports, ECERS
  • Responsible for following all Title 22 regulations in the classroom
  • Other duties as required

COVID-19 RESPONSE:

All employees are providing with training staff in new procedures with the intent of protecting the health and safety of our staff and the people we serve. Parts of the plan we are developing include:

  • Providing PPE for all staff including gloves and face masks.
  • Health screening for anyone entering a AbilityPath property including checking for fever and other symptoms.
  • Acquiring and distributing sanitation supplies such as Clorox wipes and hand for all locations and vehicles.
  • Frequent, professional deep cleanings.
  • Closely following state and county health official orders and ensuring our plans align.
  • Regular testing for our preschool staff


 EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:

Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills, and ability is qualifying, unless otherwise specified.

  • AA Degree, Bachelor’s or Master’s in Early Childhood Education preferred
  • Early Childhood Education Teaching Credential preferred
  • 12+ core ECE units as per Title 22 requirements
  • Experience teaching children ages 2 – 5 years old


LICENSING REQUIREMENTS:

  • Valid California Driver’s License/ID
  • Proof of negative TB test results
  • Verification of good physical health by physician
  • Ability to obtain criminal fingerprint clearance
  • 18 years of age


PHYSICAL ACTIVITY:

  • Ability to physically respond to children with special needs
  • Ability to lift at least 25 lbs. as needed
  • Ability to sit, stand, stoop, and bend frequently
  • Ability to sit and keyboard as needed
