Academy of Art University is seeking a full-time IT Service Desk Technician to provide PC workstation support to all Academy employees. The IT Service Desk Technician will provide technical guidance by telephone and by making onsite visits to the Academy's various office locations throughout the city of San Francisco. Some of the main responsibilities of this position include troubleshooting, installation of software, hardware support, machine setup and deployment, inventory tracking and project assistance.
Candidates must possess knowledge of desktop applications and have prior professional experience installing, configuring, upgrading and maintaining desktops, printers, scanners and related devices. The Academy utilizes a variety of programs including Microsoft Windows OS, MS Office, Adobe Creative Suite and candidates will be required to troubleshoot and install these programs on Academy computers. The IT Service Desk Technician will also provide user network and network administration support.
Additional qualifications include:
Must have 2.5 years of professional experience and training.
Must possess a working knowledge of Microsoft Os Windows 8.1 Ent. and Windows 10 Ent. as well as remote desktop or similar software
CompTIA, A+, N+ or similar certification is a plus.
Must have experience replacing internal hardware on a PC or Laptop, work with an Active Directory and troubleshoot network issues, VPN issues, WiFi issues and printer issues.
Communicate effectively and demonstrate quality customer service at all times.
Possess superior time management and organizational skills.
Demonstrate and maintain the ability to complete the following activities on a regular basis in the course of completing service desk tickets:
Bend, squat, crawl and/or climb
Lift up to 50 pounds
Walk several city blocks at a time and sometimes while carrying heavy equipment
Must have a valid California driver's license and be insurable under the Academy's provider.
