Job Description

As the Food Service Worker you would be responsible for spicing up our community’s appetite by planning, preparing and serving a delicious healthy brunch on Mondays, and a healthy breakfast snack Tuesdays through Fridays to patrons at Fair Oaks Adult Activity Center. In addition, you would serve an already prepared lunch (provided by a caterer) on Tuesdays through Fridays. Finally, you would wash minimal dishes and keep the kitchen clean on a daily basis. With assistance from the Site Director you would also be responsible for coordinating and supervising any available trainees or volunteers to help with preparation, serving and clean-up.

 

Job Classification: Part-Time, Non-Exempt, 30 hours/week (Mon-Fri 8:30 am to 3:00 pm, including unpaid ½ hour lunch break)

 

Required:

  • Basic food preparation and cooking experience
  • Simple meal planning with emphasis on serving healthy food
  • Food safety awareness and willing/able to obtain Food Safety Certification within the first three months of hire
  • Basic computer and office equipment knowledge
  • Ability to communicate verbally, bilingual Spanish/English optional
