The City of Sunnyvale is seeking to fill the position of Business Liaison. This position is in the City’s NOVA Workforce Services department. NOVA provides grant-funded workforce development services to residents and businesses in northern Santa Clara County and in San Mateo County. The Business Liaison develops relationships with businesses for the purposes of developing an understanding of their operations and needs, those related to workforce development, and works to provide solutions and referrals to assist in meeting those needs.
The ideal candidate will have experience in developing and maintaining relationships with business and other organizations and be comfortable relating to businesses in a quasi-sales capacity. Presentation skills are a must. Candidates are expected to have knowledge of the local labor market and employment issues such as workforce skills gaps, occupations in demand, and hiring practices.
The position requires a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in business administration or a related field and one year of experience involving recruiting, staffing, human resources, or outside sales.
This position is Grant Funded. Continued employment is contingent upon ongoing grant funding.
