Job Description

The Facilities Engineer will provide management and technical assistance to employees and contractors in support of the repair and maintenance of equipment, utilities, and facilities. Supports manufacturing and packaging operations by providing quality, compliant, and reliable facilities, systems and equipment used in the development and manufacture of neutraceutical products. Ensures maintenance, repair and operation of utilities and equipment are performed in the most efficient method as possible while maintaining GMP compliance.


The Role:

  • Ensure the facility utilities, buildings, grounds, equipment and services are available for support of manufacturing operations.

  • Management of the site facility maintenance labor/repair budget

  • Manage site contract facility maintenance services

  • Ensure regulatory compliance by performing quality, effective and timely completion of facility maintenance projects or activities

  • Use communication skills to achieve positive business relationships with employees, customers and vendors while maintaining company goals

  • Ensure the level of service provided by facility vendors meets required standards

  • Support the maintenance department by providing technical assistance as required

  • Develop and manage preventative maintenance policies to ensure facility and equipment reliability

  • Manage the repair and maintenance of facility equipment/utilities in an economical manner to reduce overall costs and ensure optimum operational availability.

  • Other duties as assigned


The Candidate:   

  • Bachelor of  Science degree required, with majors in a related technical discipline

  • Validation of facility equipment; Food manufacturing practices (GMP), Food maintenance experience

  • Engineering project management; Management of contractors, Management/supervision of facility craftsmen

  • Industrial HVAC/refrigeration, Industrial electrical maintenance; Building management systems (BMS), Computerized maintenance management system (CMMS), Total Productive Maintenance (TPM)

  • Ability to climb ladder; Ability to lift up to 30 lbs; Ability to work in outdoor environments
