The Foothill-De Anza Community College District is currently accepting applications for the faculty position of Faculty Coordinator (Equity in Online Education), De Anza College.

The Faculty Coordinator of Online Education and Equity has the primary responsibility of supporting student success in online and hybrid learning and infusing equity and inclusion in all areas of online instruction. This position reports directly to the Dean of Online Education and Learning Resources.
The goals of this position are accomplished by:
• Coaching, training, and mentoring individual faculty to develop and implement effective online courses, considering course design, curriculum, and equity-minded pedagogical practices;
• Developing, teaching, and curating workshops and training for faculty and staff via individual, group, and college-wide programming.
• Collaborating with academic divisions and departments to help develop and implement online curricula, degrees, and certificates;
• Collaborating with key stakeholders such as Online Education staff, the Office of Professional Development, and the Office of Equity, Social Justice and Multicultural Education to offer equity-minded training based on Universal Design Learning (UDL) principles to faculty;
• Partnering with college-wide services and initiatives, and key stakeholders such as Institutional Research, Guided Pathways, and the Student Success Center, to foster increasing opportunities for student success in online and hybrid classes;
• Working with the Dean and staff to develop, plan, and implement a vision for online learning at De Anza.
KEY DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
The following duties and responsibilities are typical but not limited to the following:
Coaching, Teaching, Training, Mentoring:
• Work with faculty to identify, plan, and pursue development and/or revision of online and hybrid courses using effective, equity-minded, pedagogical practices;
• Developing, teaching, and presenting equity and inclusion based on-line pedagogy workshops/training for faculty and staff;
• Collaborate with faculty to review and evaluate existing online and hybrid courses and educational materials with faculty experts for pedagogical soundness, instructional integrity, equity-minded practices, and accessibility in accordance with District and College standards and criteria;
• Work closely with key stakeholders to develop and disseminate standards for online course design;
• Serve in an advisory role to departments and divisions to submit proper curriculum paperwork for fully online and/or hybrid modalities;
• Participate in professional development such as conferences, workshops, seminars, membership in professional organizations, statewide committees or organizations, etc.;
• Collaborate with the OER coordinator to provide resources, training and opportunities for faculty to achieve online and hybrid courses with low-cost or zero-cost course materials;
• Collaborate with instructional support programs such as the Student Success Center and Guided Pathways to improve student success and support in online and hybrid classes and instructional tutoring services;
Visioning, Planning, Administrative:
• Partner with divisions and departments to develop new degree and certificate programs offered through distance learning in cooperation with faculty, divisions, and the College Curriculum committee;
• Serve as a liaison for the Office of Online Education to the College Curriculum Committee and other shared governance groups;
• Serve on the Online Ed Advisory Group and other committees as needed; and
• Other duties as assigned including, but not limited to, department and division meetings, program review, data gathering/reporting, assessment of student learning outcomes, participation on hiring committees, adjunct faculty mentorship/training, and strategic and equity planning.
• Understanding of, sensitivity to, and respect for the diverse academic, socio-economic, ethnic, religious, and cultural backgrounds, disability, and sexual orientation of community college students, faculty and staff;
• Must meet the state mandated applicable minimum qualification for a faculty appointment in a subject discipline offered at De Anza College. In most cases, this requires a master's degree or the equivalent. • Two years of experience teaching online courses at the post-secondary level.
• Experience in equitable and inclusive practices and knowledge of culturally responsive online pedagogies;
• Communicate effectively with staff and students of diverse backgrounds;
• Experience facilitating and leading training on online education methodologies and best practices;
• Knowledge and understanding of established and innovative online teaching modalities, methods, and practices, including principles of UDL guidelines;
• Knowledge and/or experience with advanced features and administration of Canvas.
• Knowledge of internet-based instructional technologies;
• Knowledge of multi-media applications to design content for internet and video.
• Experience with program assessment;
• Familiarity with the educational initiatives in the California Community College system such as the CVC-OEI Course Design Rubric, Guided Pathways, etc.; and
• Knowledge of curriculum development including course, degree, and certificates.

HIRING RANGE: $66,539.00 - $109,280.00 annually plus benefits; actual placement is based on applicant's verified education and experience.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Full-time, Tenure-track, 11-months per year
