The City of Sunnyvale is recruiting for one Facility Attendant I/II. This position is assigned to the Department of Public Works Facilities Division. Under supervision of a Senior Building Services Leader, the Facilities Attendant provides facility maintenance and custodial-related services at various sites throughout the city.
The Facilities Attendant position will work both independently and aid Facilities Technicians. The position can be assigned to work on various tasks such as furniture assembly, roof cleaning, security checks, light bulb changing, light duty equipment repairs, custodial cleaning services, supply deliveries, escorting visitors, and other duties as assigned.
One of the primary duties of the Facilities Attendant position is responding to service requests regarding clogged toilets and overflowing plumbing fixtures where the attendant may be required to shut off the water supply. As needed the attendant will use toilet and urinal augers, plungers, and pickers. An attendant may be responsible for cleaning, mopping, and disinfecting various locations within City owned buildings due to removal of human or animal waste, everyday trash, and spills.

The minimum qualifications for education and experience can be met in the following way:
Facility Attendant I
Graduation from high school or tested equivalent; AND Some experience with facility-related services.
Facility Attendant II
Graduation from high school or tested equivalent; AND One year of experience performing facility-related services.
