The City of Sunnyvale, with a population of approximately 150,000, is searching for a Community Services Manager within the Department of Library and Community Services. The Department of Library and Community Services provides services for residents of all ages and abilities, which include: community services and recreation programs, youth and family programs, and the operation of a municipal library system.
Under general direction of the Superintendent of Community Services, the Community Services Manager plans, organizes, directs and supervises the development, operation, and evaluation of community programs and services, facilities and projects in the Department of Library and Community Services. This Community Services Manager position is responsible for the Special Populations Unit (Seniors and Therapeutic Recreation), one of five work units within the Community Services Division. The ideal candidate is expected to be organized, energetic, collaborative, and demonstrate the ability to manage a successful team in the delivery of innovative services for older adult and therapeutic populations. Candidates should also possess knowledge of trends and issues affecting Special Populations, including: Age Friendly City, social services, inclusion opportunities and community partnership development.
