Job Description

Johnson Service Group is seeking a Senior Compliance and Global Logistics Specialist for a 12 -month Temporary Assignment within the Healthcare Industry located in Milpitas

The Compliance and Global Logistics Specialist is responsible for ensuring all import and export activities are completed in compliance with applicable government rules and regulations.  This individual will be responsible for the customers logistics related to international shipments to and from Milpitas, CA.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage import transactions and customs brokers and FF’s
  • Develop and implement compliance policies and procedures
  • Coordinate import/export shipments
  • Issue NAFTA, Manufacturer’s Affidavits, CI’s and P/L, Certificates of Origin
  • Provide guidance within the organization for import/export compliance
  • Ensure the accurate classification of parts using Harmonized Tariff Schedule
  • Understand Import/Export laws and regulations
  • Releasing international orders for Distributors
  • Preparation of shipping documents for international shipments
  • Possess ACE/AES knowledge
  • Understand how to use TECRO/AIT Carnet
  • Knowledge OFAC/Denied Party Screening Process.
  • Familiar with Incoterms
  • Coordinate import/export shipments
  • Preparation of shipping documents for international shipment
  • Provide support to our Service Division and Headquarters on international issues
  • Head the Assist Program including filings and tracking for compliance
  • Other responsibilities assigned by manager

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Able to interface across departments and with senior level managers to assure
  • the success of the company 
  • Excellent speaking and diplomatic personal skills
  • Strong decision-making abilities that ensure cost effective logistics solutions
  • Familiarity with international terminology
  • Able to make decisions regarding US regulations
  • Knowledge of ERP system, e.g. SAP
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook, Excel, Word

Basic Qualifications:

  • BS degree with 5+ years’ experience or high school diploma/GED with 10-12 years of experience in coordinating the transport of goods via ocean, air, and truck for domestic and international customers.
  • Experience with Commercial Environment ACE/AES
  • Demonstrated experience with SAP ERP System

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience with SAP ERP System
  • Demonstrated expertise of Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Word.

Work Conditions:

Standard eight-hour day with overtime as needed
