The area human resources manager provides leadership and guidance to all team members in their area. They lead and organize region-wide initiatives and directives. The area human resources manager takes direction from a senior member of the corporate human resources department and is responsible for tasking their team with accomplishing any goals and directives as assigned. The area human resources manager must attract, select, train, and develop key general staff. Individuals in this position will need to plan and organize various leadership and key skill development sessions for applicable team members in the area. The area human resources manager also ensures that the area’s personnel adhere to all forms of the human resources policy, as well as educates new team members on said policies. The area human resources manager also must review and report on area activities and general human resources updates to senior management. A potential candidate should have three to 6 years in human resources, with an emphasis on leading others and oversight of multiple areas. The area human resources manager must have excellent communication skills and have a general understanding of the full scope of business, not just human resources. Area Human Resources (HR) Manager Tasks Develop best practices and educate team members and management on HR policies and procedures. Oversee timely processing of paperwork associated with transfers, promotions, training, termination, and new hires. Investigate HR issues and enact disciplinary measures when necessary.
